The initial design premise for remodeling of the apartment switched from conservative to radical.
When dismantling work first started and original structure was discovered, the approach was reconsidered and the idea of using apparent concrete columns, beams and roofs as elements of character, grew strong.
Divisory walls were replaced by alternating full and void panels. The resulting open space is presided by the kitchen counter, a free standing monolith covered with polished exotic marble “Green forest”.
Hardwood was selected for the carpentry. Cedar for indoor, ocume for outdoor.
Ceilings and lighting project was crucial in accentuating details, paintings and sculptures.
Contrast of brutalist structure wrapped in fine materials and art, framing privileged lagoon and ocean views, conferes a certain eclectic aura.
